Good Long Weekend

(click on a thumbnail picture to see the whole album)

We had a very fun and relaxing Thanksgiving and long weekend. On Thanksgiving we had a DELICIOUS dinner at Cindy's and then hung out on the front porch relaxing afterward becuase it was such a beautiful day. (Or in the case of Drake, under the front porch, lol. He was having fun playing under there.)

On Saturday we went and walked off some of those Thanksgiving calories at the track at White Pigeon High School. The kids like to roll down the big hills next to the bleachers.

Then on Sunday we went and played at a couple different parks and stopped and petted some reindeer at the Christmas Open House they were having in downtown Three Rivers. The Riverwalk Park in Constantine has a nice little boardwalk along the river (hence the name of the park, lol) that the kids like to check out. They also have a really nice playground and a skate park, so the kids have a lot of fun there.

Aiden's Tooth

Aiden lost a tooth this weekend--yaay! He's been working on this one for a while, and he came in the kitchen on Saturday to show me how it was all bent out of place. I said just keep turning it and wiggling it a little bit more and it's going to come out, so he went back in the bathroom to work on it some more and then he came running out, "I got it! I got it!" He tried very hard to stay awake and see the tooth fairy when she came, but he informed me the next morning that she must have been very sneaky because he didn't see her, lol.

Aiden's a very restless sleeper. He had $2 under his pillow, but one of the bills worked it's way out and fell down onto the bottom bunk where Xavier was sleeping. Xavier woke up in the morning and found it and said, "Oh, I think the tooth fairy wanted me to have one of Aiden's dollars." But he was a good brother and gave it back to Aiden. See? Boys can be good, lol.
And just in case you're wondering, Aiden's wearing his Scooby Doo costume in that picture. :+))

Michal's Horse Quilt

After many long months I have finally finished Michal's long-awaited horse quilt, phew! It turned out nice, and she is so happy, which makes all the broken needles worth it. She cuddled up with it on Friday night and gave it her vote of approval. :+) As you can see, it's not a complicated design, it only took me many months because I just don't have enough time with my sewing machine these days. When it comes down to free time and I have to choose between working on pictures on the computer or working on the sewing machine, well, let's just say my sewing machine and I have a love/hate relationship, wheras my computer and I have geeky love relationship, lol. However, now Aiden wants to know when I'm making his quilt. No rest for the wicked!

A Chillin Day

Journaling reads:

Aiden wears his Teen Titan mask to the park.
.
Courtney showers Aiden with lovins all day.
.
Aiden showers Stormy with lovins.
.
Xavier pretends to be a dinosaur that eats us all.
.
Yup, it’s a chillin’ day.

Attitude Girls

This is a page from the portraits I took of the kids a couple weeks ago. Just goes to show that when us girls get in front of the camera we like to show off our attitude!

The Rock Walk

Courtney's class is learning about geology, and next week they will be studying rocks. All the students are asked to bring in a small rock collection to share, so on Friday we went on a Rock Walk! Click on the picture below to see the album. The kids had a lot of fun picking rocks, and then I snuck a math lesson in when I had them count and sort them all, lol, gotta do that when you can. :+)

Wow, so many new pictures to share! On Halloween we had Xavier and Courtney for Trick-or-treating. A few days before Halloween I did new portraits of the kids and I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much happier with how these ones turned out! We also carved pumpkins a couple days before Halloween, which is always lots of fun. I have little to zero skill with the carving knife, the one with the cool face in the last picture is Landon's work, lol. On the Saturday just before Halloween we took the kids up to the Kalamazoo Valley Museum for trick-or-treating and lots of different fun and FREE activities-yaaay! And finally, the Friday before Halloween we went to see the Steven Courtney band play in Sturgis. They are a bluegrass band kids show, and it was a lot of fun. All the little kids were dancing in the aisles, they loved it.

Click on each picture below to be taken to an album with the rest of the pics.

Thanks for looking everyone!
